Scantily dressed ladies…check. PBR…check. Kevin “F-in” Fowler…check. Truck-load of Spam…check. What else could you possibly need to organize (and I use that term loosely) a Redneck Games? Oh yeah…how about the Girls Gone Wild crew filming Mudd Chicks Gone Wild? No joke.
The 2007 Redneck Games were held this weekend just North of Athens…Texas…at the Pool Ranch ATV Park. The gatherin’ of ’bout 7,000 folks competed in a var-ah-tee of avents:
There were 10 events in all. And you know it can’t be good when they have to specify “women-only” for the Daisy Dukes contest.
The first of the redneck games began in 1996 in East Dublin, Georgia. The Summer Redneck Games began as a joke response to the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996. Ever since, a few copycat events have popped up, but none has garnered the attention that the 2007 Redneck Games has…and unfortunately it isn’t positive.
According to an article from the Associated Press, the event ended “…with more than 50 arrests and citations. Henderson County sheriff’s authorities are considering charges against the show’s organizer. Oscar Still of Kilgore could face a misdemeanor charge for not having a permit.”
