Its a disgrace that all these toys are unsafe - I remember in the old days when all toys where American! we never had these problems.

I was amazed when I heard of the recall. My 6 year old is obsessed with Thomas, and has many of the pieces, movies, sets, clothes, etc. My three year old also enjoys them. How sad is it when my son tells his grandparents, “I can’t play with them, because they are made from lead paint.” From what I saw on the news, can’t this affect our kids later on in years. My son has been playing with them for probably 4 years now. And I know someone said the toys are not “dog chews”, but what about us parents that do have smaller children. Babies chew on everything, so what about my son who one of his first words was “Toma (Thomas)”. This is amazing. Thank you for letting me vent with you.

I really don’t know if poison on Thomas Trains because my son played with these Thomas Trains when he was two years old, he never get any sick. because he didn’t chew all trains, He’s not like a dog’s chew! No proof if poison by painted….

Are any of the take along trains danderous? My son who is 2 has almost all of them and plays with them throughout the day everyday.

Good question, Kylie. I don’t think Mike is on that list. And as far as I understand, you’re in the clear if it’s the plastic or metal version. These are for wooden toys. The best thing to do is call the company directly and find out what they say.

my son has almost all of the thomas the tanks engines and i was wondering if mike the red train is dangerous as well?

Indeed. Mine has been in it before with just the show. Now he’s back in it with the actual train set, which he uses with MY old Brio trainset. Sheesh. I never thought I’d see that thing again.

This is huge. The Thomas toys are not some obscure line of playthings you only find sold at local dollar stores. Most boys go through a Thomas stage sooner or later. Even my daughter went through a Thomas stage.
