Take A Ride On The Alexa Redirect Train

Carl Ocab and I have one thing in common: our best ideas come from our morning rituals…whatever those may be. Last week during his morning ritual, Carl came up with a pretty darn good idea: create an Alexa Redirect Train. The benefit? Using the redirect link to visit a blog counts as a visit through Alexa, which is recorded and added to your ranking. I saw this strategy first used by Maki over at DoshDosh.com in his MyBlogLog profile. I adopted it in mine, and my Alexa ranking continues to climb.

Since I wasn’t included in the first iteration, I thought I’d hop on board and get one going. I tweaked it a tad to include a traditional link to ping participants. Choo-Choo, my friends. There are many of you I wanted to include, but I figure we’ll all end up on the train at some point.

Rules:

• Put anything you like above this list – Chit Chat, talkies, introduce what this is.
• Start copying on the “~Start Copying Here~” and copy all the things listed without removing the links (Of course, the train would be no use without those links)
• Move all the sites labeled “Newcomers” to the list labeled “Oldies”.
• Add 5 sites that you want to include in the train and make their “Visit My Site” link like this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.example.com then invite them to join the train.
• Visit all the listed sites using the Visit My Site link. (That’s not much work! Remember, if you plant good seeds they will also grow good) and look at your high Alexa ranking next week!
