Today’s Friday’s Finds theme is “Familiar Faces”. Many of these are either “A-list” bloggers or friendly faces on their way up the blogosphere ladder. Either way, their content has been and continues to be useful to me as well as many other bloggers. Once again using MyBlogLog avatars to identify them, here are a few recent finds that I found helpful.
I’ve been using AuctionAds since its inception in March of this year. It’s been largely hit or miss…up one day, and nothing for the next few days with regard to revenues. Darren Rowse posted an account from an anonymous blogger who had just received a payment from them that was bigger than anything he’d previously earned from a blog. Other bloggers offered their experiences as well in the comments. Check it out.
I enjoy reading Wendy’s blogs primarily because her blog is hot off the presses…relative to other established A-list bloggers. So, her offerings are really inspirational, and easy for other new kids on the block to relate to. Today’s interview with Search Engine Guide’s Jennifer Laycock includes absolute basic, need-to-know, and must-do-now things that new websites should do to make their sites and blogs search engine friendly.
I’m constantly trying to improve my potential to make money online. There are plenty of ideas out there, and many suggestions from established bloggers. John Chow has an excellent easy to follow post on how to tell if there are any SiteMatch ads on your blog and how Google stats can show the breakdown between normal contextual ads and SiteMatch ads.
So what if his avatar is an anime character? Maki over at DoshDosh.com has a really useful post 9 out of 10 times. I’ve used a single line beneath my header to “sticky” posts that I think are worth reading once they’ve found their way into my archives. In one of his recent posts, Maki discusses how using roundup posts can highlight some of the great content you’ve written within a specific time frame.

All the blogs you mentioned are well worth a read – here’s hoping people unfamiliar with them go check them out.
