In the muddle of link bait and link exchange tactics, there are still a few that retain a certain degree of integrity…such as a Bloggers Tournament.
One such example is the Obsessive Thoughts post, in which you get to know your fellow bloggers just a little better. It comprises a list of their obsessions, and 5 new bloggers are tagged to continue the list. I was tagged by Kelly Cho.
- Cars. I’m a car fanatic. I subscribe to just about every major car magazine (Motor Trend, Automobiile, Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc). You’d think I have more car reviews, videos, and news on my blog…but I keep getting beaten to the punch. Anyway, I wash my car every weekend and I get upset people do things like lean on my car or something silly like that. I also help organize two [national/regional] auto events.
- Sports. As a former college football player, I love college football. But I also love the NFL, especially more now because of fantasy football, which I should list as a completely separate obsession. But, I also watch as many Spurs games as I can. And I catch most of the major golf tournaments. I’ll even watch NFL Europe games, which begin April 12th.
- Stock Market. When dividing amount of time spent watching TV into categories, only CNBC or some other stock market commetary programs compete with my sports viewing. And it’s the only thing I monitor on the Internet more than my blog or my email.
- Technology & Gadgets. Although I usually wait awhile on the consumer end of things, I’m always trying to stay on top of the latest tech news, releases, and I’m constantly reading reviews. I particularly enjoy reading about mobile devices and home theater gear.
- Blogging. Dashboard. MyBlogLog. Google AdSense. Kontera. AuctionAds. 10-15 Blogs. AdSense. Dashboard. 5 More Blogs. News Sites, Google, Yahoo! Video Sites. Dashboard…ok…you get the idea. I’m hoping this isn’t a phase because I really enjoy working on Derrich.com…constantly trying to improve it. It has definitely been a learning experience…and I’m having fun doing it. And if you are having fun reading it, why not subscribe.
Hmmm…now I’ve just got to figure out who to tag. How about Ed Lau, Blain Reinkensmeyer, Ilker Yoldas, Markk, Gregg Hawkins, Derrik Dyka. YOU’RE IT!!!

I think future revisions of this list should expand it to at least 7-8 obsessions. I had a very hard time narrowing it down lol

You could have easily thrown deviled eggs into the mix, huh? Me too. And I had the same problem. OCD maybe?

I don’t have obsessions. If anything tends that way then I stop it. That’s why I had the Twitter widget on my blog for just 2 days!!

Perhaps an obsession with being unobsessed? I don’t know. Just doing some “thinking” over here.
Sorry. I just woke up. Brain still slow.

Obsession: the domination of one’s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.
Nope.. Nothing can control my mind! =)

[...] OBSESSIVE THOUGHTS, what does this mean to you? Well, perhaps we don’t really want to know, but in this case it is a game of tag, and thanks to Derrich, “I am it!” What I have to do is comprise a list of a few things I am obsessed with, then pass on the lovin to 5 more people. It is a different form of link lovin if you ask me, and I guess everyone really benefits in the end. If you want to see an example, check out Derrich’s post as he is the one who tagged me to get involved! [...]

While you’re figuring out who to tag, I see you already tagged me. That’s what we call action before the thought. Good thinking, Derrich. And thanks a bunch.

One year for the University of Tulsa (D1-A) and 3 seasons at Southwest Texas State Univerity (D1-AA)…now Texas State University.
It’s a sensitive chapter in my life’s journey. =\
