And The Award Goes To…
*drumroll*
…GIZMODO.COM! The uber tech blog used the power of its readership to squeeze the life out of its opponents. That shouldn’t take anything away from Stock Trading 101. Blain Reinkensmeyer put forth a noteable campaigning effort early in the tournament to beat up on his foes round after round. He just ran out of gas at the end; and with over 1,700 votes, Gizmodo proved too powerful. (I guess that’s fair since I lost his stock picking contest…kidding, of course.) Congrats to Gizmodo who joins Career Ramblings as 2007 Bloggers Tournament champions.
About The Winner
Besides being THE ultimate guide to the latest gadgets, Gizmodo is easily my favorite tech blog. I find myself charmed by its photos of uber gadgets and stuff you can only get in Japan.
Gizmodo is a technology weblog dedicated to everything related to gadgets, gizmos, and cutting-edge consumer electronics. Our influential audience stops by frequently to check out the latest news, reviews and recommendations for products including laptops, cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, home entertainment and more. The site is part of the Gawker Media network.
The blog was started in 2002 by Peter Rojas. Now it is published in 6 different languages including German, Spanish, and Italian. Here’s their post about my tournament in French.
I would like to thank the Gizmodo staff for participating in the 2007 Bloggers Tournament. They had no issues making every attempt to win as they are self-proclaimed “awards whores”. What they deemed the “antithesis of that old maxim, ‘Why don’t you pick on somebody your own size?’” and a “dubious popularity contest”. ended up a success…just like the first one. And this won’t be the last.

Congrats, Gizmodo…and now you can add this victory to your 2007 accolades. And, sorry…I really don’t have any awards this year. Although I’m sure I could arrange for Derrik Dyka to send you guys some Flipping Rich T-Shirts. Just say the word.
