Artist Phil Hansen of Washington State has an interesting way of displaying his artistic abilities. He painted on 2×4 framing, drawn on Starbucks cups, and used photocopies of pages from the Bible. In this video, Phil uses black paint and karate chops to create a wall-sized mural of Bruce Lee.

On Wednesday, MsDanielle popped up on my WP Dashboard. Curiously, I clicked on it (as I usually do)…and she is participating in the name list.
Abide By The Rules
The original list came from Gary Lee’s blog. Inspired by The Tech List from JMH Techtronics, he thought it would be fun to build a list of “name” domains.
To be included on this list the real name of the author must be included in the domain name. I was thinking about saying that you have to include your whole name in the domain, but honestly, it’s the Name in My Domain list, not the Full Name in My Domain list. Also, subdomains of your current sites do not count for sure. That’s just cheating. Good thing I remembered to mention that! You will see what I’m talking about as you see the list below.

The battle of the blogs heats up for Round 4 in which The Gamut winner goes head-to-head with the Technology & Gadgets winner…and the Blogging & SEO winner takes on the Money & Finance winner. Round 3 brought some heavy voting in a couple of brackets. The results were as follows:

The Final Four
GAME 29 — [2] Kineda finds itself going up against Tech blog giant, [2] Gizmodo
GAME 30 — [3] Blue Hat SEO will do its best to issue a downgrade of [6] Stock Trading 101
VOTING FOR ROUND 4 HAS ENDED. GO TO ROUND 5.
Campaign Rules: A Few Changes
For Round 4, bloggers will have the ability to earn 10 bonus points by linking to this post to ask for votes. However, providing a link directly to the poll will result in a 20 point deduction. Additionally, for every extra blog you get to campaign in your favor, you will earn 5 bonus points. So, if you have some friends that want to show you some support, have them link to this post and make sure they ask their readers to vote for you. Once again, posting a link directly to the poll on those blogs will result in a 20 point deduction. So, if you aren’t confused enough, here goes:
+10 points — competing blog link to this post
+5 points — friend, family, foe blog link to this post explicitly in your favor
-20 points — per blog that directly links to the voting poll
ROUND 4 VOTING ENDS SUNDAY, APRIL 1 @ 11:59pm CST. The final stand-off will be held Monday, April 2nd to coincide with the 2007 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament…but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Recently, I’ve been looking for a Spring pee wee soccer league for my son to join. He has entirely too much energy to be watching Curious George on my 55″ Sony SXRD.
Well, after watching this video of pee wee hockey, I wish I could find a league for him down here. Unfortunately, the Texas heat makes hockey a not-too-popular sport in these here parts. I haven’t laughed so hard in…well, in a few days. Enjoy.

About a week ago, I was browsing MyBlogLog communities and came across a couple of blogs using in-text link ads. In-text link ads are basically online product placement based on the contextual relevancy between an advertiser’s brand and online content as explained by Kontera. They appear as underlined links on Derrich.com. And when you hover over them, voila…

Anyway, most of these blogs with the in-text link ads had less than 50 [Feedburner] subscribers and had only been around for several months. Based on pure assumption, I concluded that these blogs had less than 500k page views per month. Vibrant Media’s Intellitxt requires a blog must receive a minimum of 500k page views to qualify for its program…no exceptions. These blogs were using Kontera ContentLinkâ„¢. According to Kontera’s Publsihers’ Qualifications, your website must:
So, I decided to give it a whirl. Actually, I clicked on an in-text link ad that redirected me to the Kontera website.
I discovered that ContentLinkâ„¢ featured five unique ad formats including video and flash.

In the 7 days I’ve used ContentLinkâ„¢, I’ve earned more with that than I have with Google AdSense in 6 of those 7 days…oddly enough. I have noticed some odd keywords being hyperlinked with cookie cutter ads. While there isn’t currently an ad filter for ContentLinkâ„¢ in the user toolbox, you can filter a list of URLs and ads by customizing the code (upon acceptance, this ability will be demonstrated to you). These ads will no longer appear on your website. Otherwise, I’ve seen multiple image ads…no flash or video yet. Very cool stuff, and a great way to increase the revenue potential for your blog.
How Do I Get ContentLinkâ„¢ For My Blog?
The evil one himself, John Chow, has arranged for blogs that fall short of the usual requirements to take advantage of ContentLinkâ„¢ as an additional source of revenue. Simply fill out an application, and include the phrase “John Chow Kontera partnership” in the comments field.
Don’t worry about the field that ask for your page view. When you apply through this blog, your application is sent to my personal account representative. He will approve you based on your site content and not your traffic level.
I highly recommend that you take advantage of this window of opportunity. John Chow suggests that it might not last long.
