Why Alec Baldwin Is The Best Saturday Night Live Host Ever

    January 11th, 2007 - Read Comments »

To date, Alec Baldwin has hosted SNL 13 times as of November 2006, has 3 cameos (in the monologue of the Ben Affleck/Nelly episode from season 30; in two sketches of the Steve Martin/Prince episode from season 31; and in the monologue of Annette Bening/Gwen Stefani/Akon episode December 9, 2006). A few of my personal favorite skits of his include his Bill Brasky appearances (Click here to watch “The Funeral” skit), the NPR spot plugging his Schweaty Balls routine, and his appearance on the Joe Pesci show as Robert de Niro…oh yeah, and his late-night infomercial for his sex line. Anyway, here’s a recent skit you may not have seen that I thought was pretty funny. Talk about sticking your foot in your mouth.

You can see his best on the Saturday Night Live – Best of Alec Baldwin DVD. Alec (we’re on a first-name basis, you know) also has a blog on The Huffington Post that I read occasionally. Check it out sometime. BTW, I know I didn’t really discuss “why” he’s the best SNL host ever, but I’m pretty sure he is. And I recently posted that Justin Timberlake gave an Alec Baldwin-like performance in his most recent episode. That’s saying alot since JT is pretty low on the Derrich totem pole of celebrities…er was. If you have a favorite Alec Baldwin SNL skit, leave a comment and/or vid link if you’ve got it.
