CES and North American International Auto Show Steal Yesterday’s Thunder

    January 9th, 2007 - Read Comments »

Ok…let me make this short and sweet. Here are three significant pieces of news from yesterday’s trade shows.

    1. Comcast and TiVo unveil DVR collabo – BusinessWeek.com
According to Comcast, its subscribers can add TiVo DVR features to their existing set-top boxes without a visit from a technician. Here’s an example of the hybrid interface.
    2. Toyota gives “Big 3″ a run for their money – CNBC.com
This comes of no surprise to me given that Toyota has been stealing market share from U.S. Automakers handily over the past few years. With the focus on full-size trucks, Toyota…and maybe even Nissan…are quickly becoming formidable competiton. I’m all for it given the fact that we have a brand new Toyota truck manufacturing plant here in San Antonio.
    3. Apple and Cingular Tag-Team for iPhone – Gizmodo.com
Since Macworld doesn’t begin until tomorrow in San Francisco, there aren’t many details available at this point. But Gizmodo.com has vowed to come through with up-to-the-minute coverage on this highly-anticipated event.

    Stay tuned…
