Michael J. Fox Ripped By Rush Limbaugh.

    October 25th, 2006 - 2 Comments »

First Donovan McNabb, now Teen Wolf? Geez, Rush. C’mon, man! Michael J. Fox recently did two very similar ads for Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Maryland candidate Ben Cardin. As with any controversial topic, there are always two very strong points of view, but one thing is certain: Rush was out of line. I mean watching those commercials was uncomfortable for me. I can’t recall seeing Michael J. Fox in that condition; I had no idea it had progressed (probably due to the meds he takes to help control it). The last thing that even crossed my mind is that he pulled a quick one on us, or “did a good job of acting”. As for the argument that Michael J. Fox exploited his condition selfishly (for him and other Parkinsons victims)…uh…if only you were in his shoes (and I’m not suggesting that it was selfish). See for yourself.

See the video followed by Rush Limbaugh’s commentary.
Michael J. Fox on ABC’s Good Morning America earlier this year.

Rush has since apologized, but it hasn’t stopped others from reacting swiftly:

My only suggestion to Michael…Stay the course. Why would anyone take seriously a man who put all the blame on the Congressional page during the Foley scandal? Claire McCaskill is a great candidate. Even with Georgie, Dick, and Laura Bush making repeated fundraising visits for the incumbent Talent, she is pulling ahead in the polls. It will be interesting to see how this affects the election.

First off Michael went off his meds for this ad. This is something he does for “dramatic” purposes when addressing congress or doing ads. Rush was totally taken out of context with this one, he said ” He’s either acting or off his meds..”. Michael is implying the Republicans are against stem cell research when infact they are just against embryionic stem cell research. I don’t believe that people such as Michael J. Fox or Cindy Sheehan have a free pass when entering the political ring just because they were victims. By the way, the latest polls have McCaskill behind by a few. Just my two cents, and no I’m not a kool-aid drinker.
